today i did something really stupid. i will add it to the list of stupid things i've done. i guess i haven't done TOO many stupid things in my life. but i'll talk about a few that are worth mentioning.

i've played around on a canoe too much.. making me and 3 friends capsize into some very murky/gross water.

i've locked my keys inside my car with the engine still running. not once. but TWICE!

i've "lost" my wallet for 2-3 days only to find it sitting on my shelf. i thought someone had stolen it from work!

the stupid thing i did today also has to do with losing my wallet. but this time it was just.. ridiculous.

i was leaving toronto this morning to come back to london so i went to fill up gas before getting on the 401. i decide to use the quickpay option at the pump. MISTAKE #1- i put my wallet on the roof of my car as i was gassing up. (can you tell where this story is going?) i even remember thinking to myself, "i should really put my wallet back in the car. how horrible would it be if i left it there and forgot about it." aaand that's exactly what i did! MISTAKE #2- i drove away from the gas station with my wallet on the roof of my car.

i didn't realize this until after i drove to starbucks (to get a drink for the road of course!).. got in line and reached inside my bag to find that my wallet WAS NOT THERE. and the realization of what i had done hit me ..HARD. i bolted back to my car.. panicking the whole way and thinking how stupid i was to have done this! i drove back to the shell station, looked around on the ground but didn't find it. i went inside to ask if anyone had turned a wallet in ..nope. i was about to walk away to go look for it on my own.. buuut PTL #1 - the manager was there and he asked me to get my receipt so he could see what time i had been there so he could check the surveillance video. it was pretty cool because he had me go into the back room with him to look at the footage.. and he zoomed into my wallet sitting on the roof of my car a few times. i enjoyed that.. felt like i was in a mystery thriller movie :P so by looking at the video we figured out that my wallet had not fallen off my car AT the gas station. my heart sank as i realized that it was out on the road somewhere. so this gas station is situated at HWY 7 & Woodbine. pretty busy intersection. PTL #2 - the manager tells one of his guys to go outside and help me look for my wallet. we look in the area leading up to the intersection.. nothing. so we cross the street to look on HWY 7 where i had turned. PTL #3 - edmond (the guy helping me) spots something! we get a little closer.... IT'S MY WALLET!!!!! so edmond goes on the road and grabs my wallet along with a few cards that had fallen out. and he can do that you know.. he was wearing one of those fluorescent orange vests :P so i thanked him as we walked back to the gas station. and i went back inside to thank the manager too (darn i forgot to ask him his name).

i didn't lose anything important. my wallet feels a bit thinner but if i can't remember what was in the place where i lost stuff it must not be important. the only things that got bent from cars running over it are my optimum card, starbucks partner card, and my student card. i actually realized that i didn't have my student card after we got back to the gas station. so i went back to get it myself. here it is..

cracked in 2! :( i know i don't need it anymore. but i wanted to get it back for sentimental value. i've lost this thing too many times! never again. i hope.

i will always remember the kindess of edmond and the manager whenever i drive by that gas station. i'm so grateful to them! God provides help when you need it :)

wow that was a long story. i like sharing details.

hm.. i need to start blogging more.

ps. i know i look like i'm philippino in my student card pic :P
