i've started to give high fives a lot this year. i find it's a fun and good way to connect with ppl about the simplest of things. you find out you have something in common with your co-worker.. high five! you agree about something with your friend.. high five! you reminisce about something from the past with your brother.. high five! i also hold my hand up for one just to greet ppl ..without saying a word :P i get some perplexed looks sometimes.. but ppl understand nonetheless and slowly raise their hand to meet mine!

and then i read this on jason mraz's journal tonight:

day 24 of the strike. i'm really thankful for all this time off that God's given us. gives me a chance to have quiet days at home like today! when the strike hit i was dancing for joy because it came at the most opportune time - the busiest time for my nursing program. and i seriously believed that God's grace was delivered again. but i've been thinking that there must be some greater reason for why He has chosen to put our educations on hold and give us this lengthy break. there has to be a reason right?

and then i heard a sharing from a girl from my church this past sunday. she took a step of faith and decided to go on a mission trip to uganda with a team from our church knowing she would miss school. and almost at the exact time she leaves for the trip.. the strike begins. talk about timing! God's grace abounds!

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Ephesians 4:7 NASB

and i'm sure there are many other stories of how this strike is doing something good for other ppl. i also wonder if there's an even GREATER reason for the strike. what else does God have up His sleeve?


i think i'm being continually challenged to look beyond myself. i am the first to admit that i am narrow-minded.. living in my own little world.. very oblivious to world happenings and things going on around me. there is no selfless good deed. doing good always make you feel good yourself (friends episode). but it doesn't matter.

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. Galatians 6:9

reaping is good.. especially when you sow good seeds on good soil. it takes patience tho. like the verse says ..in due time.
